H. Schintz of San Francisco is associated with the California Gold Rush; and made a lime squeezer used in the best Bar Rooms, Saloons and Gambling Halls. They are renowned for their extremely high-quality goods that were custom made to order by skilled craftsmen. This is an example of the San Francisco firm's Rosewood lime squeezer with select grained Rosewood and heavy silver-plated brass mounts. This is an elegant, yet heavy duty Bartenders tool that was a necessary accouterment for every Saloon, Gambling Hall, and Bar room; and meant to last a lifetime of daily use. About 20" long open x 1 7/8" wide. Weight is 1 lb. 2.3 ounces or 522 grams. Each half of the selected grain halves are sculptured from a single large single of Rosewood. These Large pieces of Rosewood are no longer obtainable and at the time, were very expensive and hard to find; but revered for the beautiful color, hardness, and grain. This Rosewood grain is exceptional, the rounded tapering handles and body are hand sculptured, and the heavy-duty brass mounts were heavily silver plated. This would be the last lime / lemon squeezer you would ever need, and would be a perfect accoutrement for any Saloon, Gambling Hall, or Bar room collection.
