It is a manufacturer flaw see picture # 4. There are very faint beater marks or utensil marks in bottom of 8 1/2" bowl. See picture #8. The line in the inside bottom is just manufacturer flaw. There is a black dot on the rim of the 8 1/2" bowl. It's a manufacturer flaw & it's smaller than a flea bite. See picture #7. The bowls are bright & Shiny!
