Fisher Futura 202 Receiver - Serviced, Working. Wood Case/Recap'd PSB+Amp/LEDs

Description: This listing is for a Fisher Futura 202 Stereo Receiver in excellent cosmetic and functional condition (see note below regarding the FM Stereo light). The unit provides 28 WPC @ 8 Ω. More specs for this unit are show below. All Radio Dial lamps have been updated to Cool Blue LED’s for improved brightness, long-life and cooler operation. All caps on the Power Supply and Amplifier Boards have been replaced using quality Nichicon capacitors. The Tuning Meter is working and signals strong AM and FM reception (FM requires an antennae). Fisher was an early name in stereo technology. This unit was introduced in 1970. An official Fisher Wood sleeve is include and is in good condition (please note last picture showing damage on back left top edge). The unit features a phono input, 2 Aux inputs and Tape In/Out jacks which are compatible with a variety of options that can use basic stereo RCA cables. It has a headphone jack and hook-ups for two pairs of speakers. A color copy of the Service Manual will be included. Overall size is approx. 16” W x 12” D x 5” H making it a great choice for those with limited space. The following outline covers the testing/service work done: · All speaker connections have been tested and are working, both right and left channels · The tuner was tested using a simple wire antenna attached. AM and FM stations were received as expected across the radio dial with a simple wire antenna. o Note: the stereo lamp is not working. It is in a very difficult location to replace so no attempt was made to replace it. Please do not bid if you do not accept this condition as stated. · Aux and Tape inputs and outputs were tested and function as expected. · Phono input was tested and functions as expected. It has a rear panel switch labeled High and Low. The Low setting is used with moving magnet style cartridge’s (the most frequently used today). The High setting was more compatible with older ceramic style needles. · Headphone jack was tested and is working. · All Switches and Potentiometers were flushed with contact cleaner, followed by treatment with the appropriate DeoxIt treatment. · The faceplate, dial scale and all knobs were removed, cleaned and hand polished. · All Radio Dial lamps were replaced with Cool Blue LED’s. · The source indicator lamps were working at time of testing. · All electrolytic capacitors on the Power Supply and Amplifier Boards have been replaced with quality Nichicon components. · Cleaning on all exterior surfaces was done to improve appearance. The wood case was cleaned and with furniture-grade Wood Cleaner and Conditioner. · The power cord was inspected and cleaned. It is slightly stiff but the protective casing is in good condition. · Any missing top cabinet or bottom plate screws were replaced. · A final extended use test was performed to ensure functionality. · The final picture shows all parts replaced. They are responsibly disposed of locally and will not be shipped with the unit. This listing describes the item to the best of our ability.
