Scale, Baldwin VO-660 Diesel Freight Train Set, Produced by the Master Craftsmen of Gebr. Fleischmann of Nurnberg, Germany, Circa 1950's or so. If this set was EVER run, it was probably around the track just a few times. Look at the loco wheels, that show virtually ZERO use! The diesel locomotive is heavy, diecast metal. It runs forward & reverse with the headlight working, but is in great need of cleaning & lubrication, as it has been sitting unused for probably over 70 years now. The markings on the bottom of the locomotive are different than others I have seen. I believe this to be a very early set. The box & refrigerator cars have metal bodies with some plastic parts. The other three cars are plastic. The caboose is badly warped, but replacing this car should not be very difficult or costly. As for the track, there are 12 curves, 4 straights, one feeder and one uncoupler section. There is also this other feeder section, marked Fleischmann, but it is of the later, brass rail type. It came to me this way, so I am including it. The original set box is showing wear and has some moisture shading to the top, which has not affected the contents or the bottom of the box. The box top label is just beautiful, please see photos. The original locomotive instruction sheet is also included. Other than this description, I am selling this set based ENTIRELY on the photos, so please look them over carefully. Anyway, these old eyes don't see like they used to, so I ask that you take the time to "ZOOM IN" and look the photos over very closely, to determine for yourself just what we have here.
