Appearing as Limestone geodes lined with botryoidal Agate, Quartz crystals and/or druzy Quarts fingers. 38 - 25 million years old, Oligocene - Miocene Period. Agatized Coral was adopted in 1979 as the state mineral of Florida. Locality: From the Econfina, Withlacoochee and Suwannee Rivers, southern Georgia and Northern Florida. Measurements (approximate): 2 5/8" length, 1 13/16" wide, 1 11/16" thick Weight (approximate): 52 grams / 1.8 ounces This specimen was a part of a private collection purchased from a gentleman in Anderson, SC.
