Surface is a smooth textured sparkly feel, not rubbery smooth but no real pits or dimples. Holding onto one long end, the deflection opposite is less than 1 inch.Most are 7/8 inch thick. Some 1" thick. I also have some that are 3" thick and I will add one free with each order until the 3" ones are gone.Shapes easily with hot wire or razor. I used a small band saw when I needed to shape it.3M spray adhesive works great to build up shapes, or apply strips as bumpers into cases to protect your items. (Adhesive not included)
