Description: This is a Franciscan Apple saucer from Johnson Brothers Potteries in England. In 1984, Wedgwood closed the Franciscan Ceramics division, what was the former Gladding, McBean & Co.'s Glendale plant in Los Angeles. The production of the Franciscan patterns Desert Rose, Apple, and Fresh Fruit were moved to the Pottery division of Wedgwood in England. The back stamp tells us this piece was produced in 1995.The piece shown here is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The hand painting is exquisite.
