Description: Went a little overboard on the bidding at a local auction. From what I can tell this man was a very detailed collector. The time that he took to complete the items that I got just blows my mind. I did get about 8 copy boxes of items from sheets to canceled to so many first day covers. There are a lot of US and international stamps. Can’t imagine the total that he spent but from the receipts that I had from his purchases just the face value stamps added up to be a lot. There were numerous books and pages as this one and after I sift through things I will be listing everything along to someone who can use and appreciate this man’s collection. For this auction you are bidding on the stamps pictured. I did just gather all of the single stamps and the stamps that were canceled and saved from used postage letters. This collector worked in DC from what I can tell of the lettera and had connections all over the world that sent him canceled stamps. I went through hundreds of envelopes and emptied them all out into a large box. Plus in sorting through all the other boxes I put the glassine envelopes with stamps in the box plus any loose singles in which there were thousands that I dumped in too with just so many odds and ends. The volume is just overwhelming if you are not a stamp person but I can appreciate someone who is. Believe me this is an unsearched lot of stamps that you are getting. The total weight of all the stamps in the box was over 20 pounds but I split them into 10 different lots in which you are bidding on. Each of the ten lots has over 1 and a half pounds of the stamps in the picture. I numbered each lot from 1-10 and gave you a few pics of the lot you are bidding on. Spent enough time on getting it all tougher and want to move them along to someone who will appreciate them. Also as a bonus I am including for free over $100 in face value of US stamps that you can use for postage. They are mainly 20 cent stamps in this lot that I am giving you. Please note on these free stamps that I am including stamps do not have the glue on the back. Not sure if the collector got them wet on the back and then separated the sheets but there is no glue on the back of the stamps. These stamps are loose or in sheets and are separate so they can be used as postage today. From what I can tell most of these stamps are from the 1940- 1970s plus a bunch from before and some after up to about 25 cents time when issued but mostly older in the 1950s. As far as condition please look at the pictures carefully. The family member who stored these items did not do so in the most proper way for stamps. There are some items that will go directly to the recycle bin along with the boxes of just canceled mail envelopes with the stamps on them that he kept. . Please email me for questions, I will try to be complete on the overall condition, but I will not list out each stamp with their condition cause it would just take too long and my knowledge about the types of stamp is good but not great at all with international or exact Scott numbers. So bid appropriately, these have not been cherry picked, it is truly unsearched by stamp people. Sent the next business day after the auction ends, no returns on the heavy stuff, just not worth sending back and forth and since the lots are so big, I do not have the knowledge of if someone swaps something out- it has happened to me before believe it or not.
