I usually ship the same day, unless it’s Sunday or a holiday when the post office is closed. 1950’s Vintage Hand Engraved Johnson Brothers England China Christmas Gravy Boat. This pattern was manufactured in the early days of this pattern, not the 70’s-90’s. The creamer and sugar bowl are from the same set as my other auctions for this pattern/brand. I have included a photo of the backstamp from one of the square salad plates so that you can see the set they belong to (that plate is not a part of this auction). See photos. This is a great deal! This sweet set is the original hand engraved version, not the newer stuff. If you want the OG originals to add to your collection, this one will satisfy the requirement. This one is 1950’s/early 60’s vintage. The Stamp on the set is hand written, not printed like newer versions. Basically Brand New. Seriously, see the pics! Creamer and Sugar Bowl stats: Creamer: Height: 3 5/8” Mark: Yes. Imprint on the bottom “MADE IN ENGLAND” Weight: approx. 8 oz. Item appears to be unused. Sugar Bowl & Lid: Height: Approximately 4” Width: Approximately 4"Mark: Yes. Imprint on the bottom “MADE IN ENGLAND” Weight: Bowl & Lid together are 13 oz. Other: Handles are pristine. Trivia: When Johnson Brothers was founded in 1883 by Frederick and Alfred Johnson, two grandsons of the founders of the renowned English pottery, J. & G. Meakin, the goal for their Staffordshire pottery was to produce an earthenware called “White Granite,” which is marked on many early pieces as “SEMI PORCELAIN.” The Johnson Brothers, sometimes abbreviated to Johnson Bros, felt it was a great material for dinnerware because it looked and felt like China but was as tough as ironstone.
