Description: Extremely Rare French Art Nouveau Deco 18K Gold Enamel Gendarme Police Baton Pendant Charm 👮🏿 Fully hallmarked with a partial eagle head for 18K gold of French origin (3rd image) and a partial goldsmith makers mark on the opposite side where only one letter is visible, appears to be a P. Weighs approximately 1.1 grams. Approximately 1.72 cm (10.5/16 of an inch) in total length, and approximately 3.5 mm (2/16 of an inch) at its widest hand guard section. Extremely rare perhaps even one of a kind since I have never seen another. The baton was also used for directing traffic during the horse and carriage age, so dual purpose, so a precursor to traffic lights. So as the images illustrate the tops were white for visibility.
