Description: This came from the estate of my grandfather, who served in WWI. He was a gunner's mate but evidently made it ashore to pick this up. It was stored along with an 1879 Remington rolling block rifle (ex-Argentinean Army), although I don't think the two were related. It's in as-found condition, no cleaning other than wiping down the blade. Blade is uniformly excellent, with only very minor marks (mostly right by the crossguard; please see pics). Writing on blade spine is crisp. Wooden handle is solid and very nice with no splits or cracks, only a few light impressions from use. Brass pommel has a nice patina. All bidders (especially foreign) must check local laws to ensure that bladed instruments such as this are not prohibited.
