Description: This is one of the more famous French doll makers of French folk costumes: Le Minor. This beautiful ethnic, regional doll is from the town of Saint- Brevin-les-Pins , almost in the center of France's Western Atlantic coastline, not far from the largest inland city west of St. Brevin: Nantes. The doll is 11" tall, 7 1/2" wide at the base of her skirt, and 7 1/2"deep. Her dress is made of dark blue velvet with red braid near the bottom. The shawl and the apron are made of a rough satin-like cloth. The trim on her apron, sleeves, and her headdress are made of lace. The doll is supported by a stiff net cone under the skirt. Her legs do not reach the ground as is common on many French dolls. Her hair seems to be made of a soft wool-like material. This doll comes with her own carrying case, which is 11 3/4"tall.
