Description: Up for offer is a stunning matched pair of a French Cavalier or Musketeer who is courting a lovely Maiden. This pair is fresh out of a high end estate, they both stand just over 20” tall, I have seen this set selling as singles but never as the matched pair that they are. They are wonderfully painted and the details of the face and hands is very high, decades ago this type of ware would be identified as painted Parian ware but now bisque, Painted Parian sounds so sheik. They were made in France in the 1860-80 period. Being so big they have been a bit of a target, so do have issues, he has on his left hand 3 fingers missing and a roughed up bouquet of flowers that were for the maiden, also the tip of the sword is chipped but hard to see, also minor small ships to the edge of the base from being set down too hard. His base is over 6 1/2” in diameter. She shows on her right hand 2 fingers missing, near the base there is a small chip to a branch stump, there is a very small line on the left side of her chest and one chip to the bottom that is on the edge of the base. Base is 6” in diameter. There is an impressed 169 on bottom of both figures, I added pictures to each of the issues mentioned, all an easy fix if desired. Now about the fun part, shipping. Because they weigh almost 15 pounds unpacked and need attention to the packing to keep them safe I am listing shipping at $250.00, if it is more I will cover the shortage, if it is less I will refund the difference so no over charging on shipping, also I do not charge for material or effort it will take to pack them safe, shipping amount is for Canada and lower 48 states in the U.S. outside of North America please contact for price. Thanks
