Description: Item note: The very first Furman Sound PQ6 production unit made, with serial number A00001, went to the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia. Also, Dimebag Darrell from Pantera and Damageplan used Furman equalizers. Dimebag used the Furman PQ-4 Parametric EQ from around 1991, to adjust the sound of his rig to his liking. Sometime towards the late 90s, he switched to the PQ-3. Here’s a quote from Dimebag Darrell. He misspelled the word Furman, but I left it unedited. Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) 1992: “The only thing else I use is a Fermin PQ-4 parametric equalizer. I just use that. I don’t really use it for much more than just cutting out some frequencies that I don’t want, and boosting a couple that I do want.” Nowadays, people who want to replicate the “Dimebag sound” usually go for a Randal RG100, a Furman PQ-3, PQ-4 or a PQ-6, with a MXR 6 Band Graphic Equalizer which is another EQ that Dimebag used to alter his sound and make it more aggressive. There’s a photo in this listing of Dimebag’s live rig from the 90s. Furman PQ-4 can be seen sitting on top of the MXR Flanger/Doubler. The photo used for Dimebag was shared from the internet. ————————- This listing is for one (1) Furman Sound PQ6 two channel Parametric Equalizer / Pre Amplifier. Serial number D0328.
