Description: Wonderfully detailed and realistic sculpture of an elephant with her calf. Signed by the famous animal sculptor, Guido Cacciapuoti (1982-1953). I believe it is made of terracotta. It measures approximately 11” in height, 12” in width, 8” in width and weighs 7 lbs. The first set of photos were taken in bright sunlight. The second set, which shows the sculpture in a more golden hew, was taken inside at night with typical interior room lighting. The inside photos better show the much darker skin on the lower legs of the elephants. Please enlarge the photos to see both the detail of the piece and to examine for any defects. I believe this piece is in very good condition and have tried to photo it so that you can make that determination yourself. The tips of the tusks are not pointed and may have broken off, but I see other copies of this sculpture with tusks in similar condition so perhaps that was the original design.
