Description: Gary Cooper Actor Hollywood Movie Cinema Film Postcard Gary Cooper (born Frank James Cooper; 1901 – 1961) was an American actor known for his strong, quiet screen persona and understated acting style. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor twice and had a further three nominations. Cooper's career spanned 36 years, from 1925 to 1961, and included leading roles in 84 feature films. Cooper appeared in only one picture in 1937, Henry Hathaway's adventure film Souls at Sea. George Edward Hurrell (1904 – 1992) was a photographer who contributed to the image of glamour presented by Hollywood during the 1930s and 1940s. Throughout the decade, Hurrell photographed every star contracted to MGM, and his striking black-and-white images were used extensively in the marketing of these stars. In the early 1940s Hurrell moved to Warner Brothers Studios, followed by Columbia Pictures. He left Hollywood briefly to make training films for the First Motion Picture Unit of the United States Army Air Forces. When he returned to Hollywood in the mid-1950s his old style of glamour had fallen from favour. He moved to New York City and worked for the advertising industry on fashion magazines. In later years, he photographed album covers. Please review the photos carefully for condition and detail. Normal wear associated with an old postcard have creases, corner bumps, scratches, ink on the front etc. This postcard has scratches.
