Description: HERE IS A 3 1/4" X 5 1/2" GOVERNMENT POSTCARD, SIGNED BY GENE LILLARD. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH VERY LIGHT WEAR AND CORNER BENDING. POSTCARD IS DATED MAY 16, 1949. GENE LILLARD WAS A PITCHER FOR 2 YEARS IN THE MAJOR LEAGUES: WITH THE CHICAGO CUBS IN 1936 AND 1939; AND WITH THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS IN 1940. HE APPEARED IN 22 GAMES, AND HAD A WON/LOSS RECORD OF 3-6 AND AN EARNED RUN AVERAGE OF 7.09. GENE LILLARD DIED APRIL 12, 1991. COMES WITH A COPY OF A LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY FROM JSA (JAMES SPENCE AUTHENTICATION.)
