Description: Superb George III Solid Silver Mounted Coconut Husk Toddy or Naval Rum Ladle (c.1800) This fabulous ladle is in fair fettle, consisting of a polished coconut husk bowl with scroll cut applied silver rim, silver shield reserve, on a turned wooden slender baluster shaped handle with silver join. It has 2 small repairs within, to the ladle joint and bowl but only visible from within. It measures 33cm long with the bowl having a 7cm diameter and has a deep emerald tassel to the end of the handle. A lot of these coconut husk ladles were originally made for naval officers but also could of easily been for a prominent civilian!
