Description: This is an original antique circa 1900-1910 photograph of American opera star Geraldine Farrar. 5 3/4" x 8". Geraldine Farrar was one of the most famous opera singers of the early twentieth century. Her 1901 debut was at the Royal Opera House in Berlin, in the role of Marguerite in "Faust." She was summoned to films briefly by Cecil B. DeMille and starred in a few of his early pictures, among others. From 1906 to 1922 she was a member of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. On the back, her name is hand written and there are some shorthand directions on how to fit the photo in a publication. Mishkin, NY is etched in the negative and her name is written in script at the bottom left. To keep the shipping cost down, this will be shipped in an envelope between cardboard stiffeners. Contact us if you'd prefer that it be shipped in a box at an additional cost. We believe that this is too large to be shipped via USPS First Class Large Envelope, as stiffeners are not allowed at that rate so there's a possibility of damage. Where possible, we will combine items to reduce shipping costs; please contact us before paying if you'd like us to combine listings.
