Description: A photo graph in what I believe is Janow Lubelski, Poland a couple of days after the Battle of Jaroslaw at the very beginning of the Invasion of Poland. German Soldiers are resting after the conflict. One in a series of photographs taken by a photographer following the German troops in to Poland, starting with the very first shots fired. Handwritten caption on the back reads in German: Ruhepause nach dem großen Gefecht in Janow Taking a break after the major combat action in Janow "During the joint German-Soviet invasion of Poland, which started World War II, in September 1939, Janów was three times bombed by the Luftwaffe, which killed 350 people and destroyed 85% of the town. The town was afterwards occupied by Germany." This is one of several historic photographs I have listed of the Invasion of Poland, at the very outset of WW2. All captioned by the same photographer in German like this one. Be sure to check them out on my other listings. Each Measures approximately 3 3/4 by 2 1/2 Box J 09042021Weight 0 ounces
