The book also became the basis for a silent film in 1914 starring Lionel Barrymore. Book is extremely well preserved with a red cloth binding with no wear after some 116 years. Titles and illustrations are gilt, as is the top of the text block. Binding is firm and all 4 corners are sharp with no shelf wear.
