Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. This wire is called "This wire is called Glidden's Two Point Barb on Two of Two Round Lines in Alternating Sequence" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 326-B). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made from round barbing wires. Barbing wire is wrapped twice around one line wire. In this sample both lines are barbed and are in alternating sequence. Wire sample is 18" in length. Wire sample shows some pitting. There are six barbs well spaced and cut is well centered. There is light bending of barbing points, but no broken or missing points.
