Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. This wire is called "Glidden's Two Point Barb on Small Twisted square Line" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 43-B ) This wire features a single square line wire, which is fairly small. Barbs are two pointed and are made from round wire. Barbing wire is wrapped twice around the square line. Sample shows light oxidation. There are three barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. There is some bending of barbing points. There are no broken, or missing barbing points.
