Description: Goebel M.I. Hummel # 203 2/0 "Signs of Spring" - 4" Tall - Early Stylized Bee TMK-3 - Incised "" and Stamped "by W. Goebel" & "Western Germany" - Incised "1948" Date - Closed Edition/Permanently Retired. HUM 203 2/0 Signs of Spring- TMK-3 Height 4" This hummel was originally modeled by Master Sculptor Arthur Meller in 1948. It was produced in one size only with the incised number 203. A smaller size was issued in the 1950s with the incised number 203 2/0. At the same time, the large size was changed to 203/1. Many size variations. The old name of this hummel was "Scandal" in older catalogs. The number of the hummel in this listing is 203 2/0. All sizes of this hummel were permanently retired by Goebel in the fall of 1990 and will not be produced again. See below for the specifications/variations on this hummel: Has "V" Stylized Bee Trademark (TMK-3) stamped in Blue on underside of base. Stamped "Western Germany" in black on underside of base. Has "1948" incised on bottom of base and "M.I. Hummel" signature incised on the rear side of base. Incised "" and black stamped "by W. Goebel" on underside of base. Hummel Number "203 2/0" incised on underside of base. Signs of Spring was permanently retired by Goebel in the fall of 1990 and will not be produced again! Colors of figurine do retain gloss. Hummel is in Excellent condition for it's age! No Chips! No Touch Ups! No Repairs! No Crazing! It may have some dust from sitting in the China Cabinet for several decades.
