Description: HUM 265 Hear Ye, Hear Ye - TMK-4 Diameter 7.625" This is the Second Edition of the Annual plate series that was produced between 1971 and 1995. A total of 25 plates, one each year was made. 1971 was the 100th Anniversary of W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik. The annual plate series was issued in commemoration of that occasion. At the end of the year of each release, all molds were destroyed. Like every charming "M.I. Hummel" collectible, the bas-relief plates are created completely by hand. Each plate measures 7.5" in diameter (this one is slightly larger), has the "M.I. Hummel" signature, and has a special inscription on the back affixed by blue decal. Each plate also has the year, number in series, Hummel Number and trademark. This one is labeled "W. GOEBEL PORZELLANFABRIK HAND PAINTED M.I. HUMMEL 2nd ANNUAL PLATE 1972 RODENTAL - WEST GERMANY Hum 265 TMK-4 1971". This plate was produced with both the Three-Line Trademark (TMK-4) and High Bee Trademark (TMK-5) as the trademark switch over happened halfway through production. This one is an earlier version with the TMK-4 Trademark. The original issue price was $30 in 1972. The annual plates are all closed editions. Early Version: Has the Goebel 3-Line Bee Trademark (TMK-4) stamped in Blue on backside of plate. The year "1971" is centered underneath trademark. Stamped "W. GOEBEL PORZELLANFABRIK HAND PAINTED M.I. HUMMEL 2nd ANNUAL PLATE 1972 RODENTAL - WEST GERMANY Hum 265 TMK-4 1971" in blue on backside of plate. Oversized - Hummel plate exceeds the catalog's listed circumference of 7.5" by about an eighth of an inch, measuring about 7.625" in diameter. Comes with original box with inner styrofoam plate holder and styrofoam protector. Second Edition in a series of 25 Anniversary Plates produced between 1971-1995. (1972) Limited Production - Quantities produced were limited to one year of production and all molds were destroyed at the end of the year. Box has harder to find Goebel 50380 TMK-3 Label on backside. Closed Edition. (CE) Hummel plate is in Good condition considering it's age! No Repairs! No Touch Ups! No Crazing!
