In Asia, goji berries have been eaten for generations in the hope of living longer. Over time, people have used goji berries to try to treat many common health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, fever, and age-related eye problems. Goji berries, which some brand a “superfood,” are eaten raw, cooked, or dried (like raisins) and are used in herbal teas, juices, wines, and medicines. Planting Instructions: Although Goji berries do exceptionally well in containers and easy to grow, we don't recommend transplanting directly due to their long taproots. An easy solution is to use a "pulp pot" to start them in which will allow you move them to their final location by planting the pulp pot directly into the ground. They will prefer full sun, but can tolerate partial shade. If planting multiple bushes, they will need about 5 feet between plants giving them room to mature. Use a well draining soil with pH 6.5 to 8.0 and amend a few inches of organic material like compost into the soil. If growing in a container, they will need a minimum of a 5 gallon container. Before planting, soak the seed for about an hour and then sow 2-3 seeds in each location about 1/4" deep in a sterile seed starter soil.
