This was a Huge ! 6-City Tour, consisting of 14-Shows in VA - NJ - PA - NC - and Miami - even including a quick-stop on The David Letterman Show ! at NBC Studios on 10/13 to play " Second That Emotion " Live for the Nation ! But probably even more importantly - well, at least ' equally ' important -- the Band was performing at a Blistering-Hot ! level, were all on the same page nightly - and were pushing the musical boundaries once again. Long-time Tour-Veterans were walking out of shows on this tour nightly, and making that " Ultimate ! " claim ... " Man, that might be the Best-Show ! I've ever seen !?! ". The fact is ... Garcia was on a true-comeback mission during this Tour, which really started a bit in the Spring, and boiled-over into Summer '89.
