Description: This is a listing for either a single, group of 3, or group of 6 Green Dragon Bristlenose Plecos! The ones you will be receiving are at least 1 inch in length, but will be in the designated range. This is a slow-growing species so it takes them about a year to reach full sexual maturity. These guys will be a few months old so they have a little ways to go to reach their breeding potential. Bristlenose plecos have been a staple in the hobby for decades because of their smaller full-grown size, affinity for eating algae, and how hardy they are. The green dragons are a relatively newer color morph that is quite stunning with each pleco having a slightly different and unique pattern! The video shows off some of the differences between individuals (I do raise my snow whites and green dragons in the same tank so disregard the snow whites, or if you're interested I have a listing for them as well!). These plecos are very hardy and not very picky when it comes to water parameters. They do best in a typical tropical setup with a recommended ph of around 6-8 and a temp of 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. I personally have raised mine at a ph of 7.6 and a temperature of 77 degrees so they are likely to do best in similar parameters, but can absolutely adapt to others as long as it isn't too far out of their range! Bristlenose Plecos are a super peaceful species that go well in community tanks. They won't bother fish of other species, though males of the same species will spar over caves and territories, so it's recommended to give options for caves if you have multiple males. They do well with really much of any setup, though they do love to munch on the biofilm grown on wood so any type of aquarium wood will always be appreciated by them. Adults of the species get to be about six inches for males and about 5 for females. Males have the telltale bristles on their noses while females once full-grown can have small bristles/nubs but nothing compared to the tentacles on the males. I personally think a pair of bristlenose can live happily in a 30 gallon tank, but they do produce a lot of waste so bigger is always better. For a breeding colony I'd suggest something more along the lines of a 55 or 75. They're not picky at all when it comes to food. They are omnivorous but do like their veggies so as long as they have a varied diet they should do well! Mine have been raised on prepared foods such as flakes and pellets, algae wafers, fresh veggies and frozen foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. All have been home-bred and raised; I know you'll love yours as much as I love mine! -Pictures and video above are of the tanks holding the actual fish you will be receiving.-All will be within the size category chosen.-All fish are shipped via FedEx 2Day in insulated boxes with a heat pack if necessary.-Fish are shipped double-bagged with oxygen.-I only ship out on Mondays & Tuesdays to lessen the chances of your fish getting delayed in the mail, and to get them to you ASAP!-If the weather in your area has lows below freezing, and/or highs below 40 on the days of transit, I will delay shipping until the weather is warmer. DOA Policy: In the unlikely occurrence that your fish arrive DOA, please simply take at least 2 pictures of the UNOPENED bag showing the dead fish (and any alive) within 2 hours of the first delivery attempt and I will be happy to either replace them or refund you. In the event you choose a refund over a replacement, shipping costs are non-refundable. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask! :D
