The connection between the saw end and the middle peice is slightly out of round and is a bit snug getting it connected and unconnected. There are marks on the aluminum and plastic (see pics). You could fiddle with it and get the connection to be better, or just permanently assemble these 2 peices (I would probably do this) Never pay full retail at National Discount Depot!
