G.triacanthum is a small size, usually solitary, with flat to globose depressed stem, up to 3 inch in width, grey-green to light green, sometimes bronzed in full sun, with only 3 spines, with peculiar grey bodies with short adpressed spines in clusters of three. It is a geophyte stem succulent plant usually solitary and barely rising above ground level with a swollen underground root system. Originally from Catamarca, Córdoba, La Rioja, Argentina.Plant ships bare root. USA and her territories ONLY.
