Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Jacob Haish patent, dated February 01, 1877. This wire is called "Haish's Wide Wrap Two Point Barb on Rippled Round Line" by collectors (ref. Hagemeier 55-B) This wire features a single round line wire which is heavily corrugated to give a ripple effect. Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire twice around the line wire. Barbs have a wide or open wrap. Wire sample is 18" in length. Wire sample shows moderate pitting. There are eight barbs. Barbs are well spaced and cut is well centered. There is some bending of barbing points, but no broken or missing barbing points.
