Description: HALITE NaCl CRYSTAL CLUSTER LAB GROWN IN CLEVELAND OHIO. The usual shape of the natural Halite (salt) crystals is the combination of six cube faces. Presented for sale NaCl crystals and their clusters were grown with an aim to create crystal morphology not often observable in the Mother Nature mineral deposits. Scientists from XSTALSHOP (division of R&D XTALS, Inc) have recently created Halite crystals with either just only octahedron {111} or combination of cube {100} and octahedron {111} faces by manipulating the growth conditions such as temperature, supersaturation, impurities, etc. This beautiful cluster was grown in our lab on the tiny table salt crystals as the seeds. The short post growth desalination crystallization is presented in form of white microcrystals located in between large crystals. Large transparent crystals have growth and dissolving features on the faces as interesting object for study too. They have not been cut, polished, or touched in any way to enhance their beauty after growth. Close inspection may reveal that the external faces are natural shapes with natural luster. This kind of specimens is very stable for humidity. An entire growth process is complex, energy intensive, requires specific controls, and educational background in geology, mineralogy, and crystallography. Along with scientific results these timely experiments allowed us to create natural-looking crystal specimens for researchers, mineral collectors, museums, educators, as well as objects d’art for other buyers. You are bidding on one exquisite specimen of the lab-grown Halite NaCl crystal cluster shown on the pictures and video. Halite crystals are combining cube {100} and octahedron {111} faces. Specimen measures are about 5.9 cm (L) x 3.3cm (W) x 3.7 cm (H). Large single crystals are up to 2.5 cm in size. Cluster is securely set in to clear acrylic case with its dimensions 7.5 cm x 6.7 cm x 5.9 cm high. Assembled weight is about 84 grams (2.9 Oz). You can find an additional information about Halite crystals and growth process on the Wikipedia website with key words: halite, crystal, single crystal, crystallization, crystal growth, etc.Thank you for buying our specimens.
