It is a classic example of the geometrically shaped watches that were commonly offered during the mid to late 1920s by Elgin, Illinois and Waltham. However, unlike other commonly shaped watches of the period, the Oval was unique in style, shape and design and, subsequently, is distinctly "Hamilton." Other geometrically shaped Hamiltons include the Cushion, Square, Barrel, Tonneau . Curiously, although sellers claim “yellow gold” it’s not. It was only produced in GREEN gold (scant copper added to yellow).
