Description: I'm a potter myself...and let me tell you, this bowl is amazing! I may be able to throw a similar bowl, as my style also leans to the thin elegantly sloping sides. But there is no way I'd be patient enough to glaze this pot with such skill. The artist used a resist technique with a VERY deep blue to create the patter on swirls. It's beautiful...and would be quite useful, but I think I'd leave it out, empty, to enjoy it's graceful lines. I wish I were better for photographer. Then I will be able to capture the depth of color in these glazes. I'm going to guess a Cobalt oxide was used as the color is super dark Navy blue. Almost black.
