It will not break like the plastic models do. I made it because in my H&R model 929 the head broke and it was miss firing most of the time. All replacement parts I could find are plastic. This brass part will slip on the guide rod the same as the plastic part. ( Some spring rods are a bit larger. This part can be drilled out to make it fit) See the pictures.
