Description: This elegant dinner plate was made by the Franco-American firm of Haviland & Co. of Limoges, France. While the pattern never had a formal name, it is called "Garden Fountain" by collectors and was likely made soon after the 1925 International Design Exposition in Paris where images of and actual fountains abounded. The plate is 10 3/8" in diameter and 1" high. It is marked on the back: "Haviland / France / DECORATED BY / Haviland & Co. / Limoges." The wonderful art deco pattern features a central motif of a fountain in a garden edged with blue swags that are repeated on the outside border along with a gold band. It is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or significant scratches. The interior blue swag border is slightly lighter in color in one section which probably occurred during firing (see pictures). A wonder piece of deco porcelain for your collection!
