Description: Rare stereoview from the days of the Kingdom of Hawaii titled “View from the Pali.” Wikipedia led me to a place called Nuʻuanu Pali which is a section of the windward cliff of the Koʻolau Mountain located at the head of Nuʻuanu Valley on the island of Oʻahu. Also, there’s a highway, Hawaii Route 61, that is often called the Pali Highway, that is in Honolulu County, Hawaii. It is the main highway connecting downtown Honolulu with the windward side of Oʻahu island. I presume the image on this stereoview is in mountain area described above. Although not identified as to photographer, the photographer was Menzies Dickson, who had his gallery in Honolulu. The card mount and style of prints are identical to those used by Dickson & there weren’t all that many stereo photographer in Hawaii in the 1870s.
