Description: Hazel-Atlas Moderntone Crystal Sugar Bowl Please be sure to check our other auctions since we presently have, or soon will have, a number of Hazel-Atlas Moderntone items up for auction. The Hazel-Atlas Glass Company operated from its founding in 1902 through 1964. In the 1920s the company expanded by buying other glass companies and by 1929 they had 10 glass factories. Hazel Atlas started making suites of patterned tableware in the 1930s, and they became one of the major producers of Depression Era glassware. Moderntone was produced by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company from 1934-1942 and again in the late 1940s-early 1950s in cobalt, crystal, amethyst as well as various fired-on colors in Platonite. This auction is for one (1) Hazel-Atlas Moderntone Crystal Sugar Bowl. This Sugar Bowl, which is 3” tall and 3-3/4” in diameter (5” from handle to handle), is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, cloudiness or fleabites. It has what appears to be a straw mark on the bottom ring which does not affect use or display. (15795)
