You Are Bidding On A Rare Ryman-Carrol Foundation Limited Edition Pin “A BRUSH WITH DISNEY” That Honors The Talents Of Master Artist Herb Ryman. “A Brush With Disney - An Artist’s Journey Told Through The Words And Works Of Herbert Dickens Ryman” is also the title of a spectacular book all about the Legacy of Herb Ryman. This Pin was given to the guests that participated in “LEGENDS WALK” a Ryman-Carrol Tribute that was held on the last two Saturdays of September & the first Saturday in October 2000. The Edition size was limited to the number of guests (300) that took the tour and a few Cast Members that helped. It was given during the Tour which included Breakfast at CLUB 33! The Pin Measures 1 3/4” x 3/4” and is marked “LIMITED EDITION” © DISNEY Herb Ryman was that rare artist who easily bridged both the commerical and fine arts throughout his long career. Disney fans know him for his inspiring illustrations of Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. He started his career at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer working on such classics as "David Copperfield” and "Mutiny On The Bounty”. His last work at MGM was the Emerald City segment of “The Wizard Of Oz”. He also worked on "Ana and the King of Siam” for 20th Century Fox. By 1938, he had joined Walt Disney Studios to work on Pinocchio. He also served as the Art Director on Dumbo, Fantasia, and Victory Through Air Power. He worked on The Three Caballeros & Saludos Amigos as a Art Supervisor. Herb Ryman’s stunning conceptual drawings of Walt Disney’s Disneyland, Walt Disney World & EPCOT, have inspired viewers since his very first 1953 drawings of the proposed amusement park helped to secure the needed $17 million dollars from the bankers to build the park.
