Description: Heritage Bare Root Canes. You are buying large 2 year old bare root Heritage Everbearing Raspberry plants. The photo shows the size of these bare root canes. Heritage has good size, dark red berries with good flavor. Great for fresh eating, freezing, canning, jams and jellies. A 1969 introduction from New York State, Heritage is strong, very vigorous and productive. This heirloom variety is recommended for home gardeners and for many years has been the standard by which everbearing varieties were judged. Easy to grow. Grows best in zones 4 - 8 with excellent winter hardiness. These plants will bear fruit this year. Plants should be planted 2-3 feet apart. Plants were originally 5-6 foot tall, but will be pruned to 10 inches tall for proper planting height. This forces buds from the lower cane and roots which will produce more fruit.
