Description: Perfect for Ren/Highland Fairs or Xmas holiday caroling in cold temperatures. For consideration is a beautiful handmade, Victorian/Dickens' style capelet, & long skirt. I have kept this outfit simple, w/ no embellishments for a truer Highland look. The outfit is beautiful plaid w/ brick reds, black, and a goldish beige, 100% cotton, slightly heavy-weight (making it great for cold outdoor events), flannel/brushed cotton. Plaid is woven, not stamped. The capelet is made extra wide to accommodate wearing a blazer &/or blouse & vest under it, as well as large sizes. Capelet is fully lined with a black cotton. The capelet is a seamless cut, and it closes at the neckline with a fancy metal hook. This style cut has a slightly lower peaking at the front center. The capelet has been outer stitched on the lining edge by hand all around. This helps hold your lining in place & can save you ironing time. The skirt has an elastic draw waist for tying off to your fit inside the back center seam. It can fit a large range of waist sizes. The smaller your waist, the more gather you will have at the waistline. A generous sweep allows for wearing over crinolines as well as hoops. The hemline is just the selvage edge of the fabric with a very small fringe to it. Skirt is shown on a plus size body form & over a 3-ring hoop which is not included in this sale. Plaid is matched & aligned at the seam. Seam is pinked. This outfit is a unique, one-of-a kind, handmade piece; no one else will be wearing the same item to whatever event you attend.
