This stocknagel is to be mounted on a walking stick with nails to show the places that they had visited. These are called either pins, mounts, shields, stocknagel, medallions, placckette/scudetti or badges and do the same thing as lapel or hat pins, they tell everyone where you have been and what you have seen. Hintertux is a village at the end of the Tuxertal valley, a side valley of the Zillertal valley, Tyrol, Austria. It is part of the municipality of Tux, which encompasses the entire valley. Hintertux is famous for its glacier skiing area, usually marketed as "Hintertuxer Gletscher", but actually located mostly on the Gefrorene Wand (German for "frozen wall") and partly on the Riepenkees glaciers.
