Description: Hiro Yamagata Original Painting Snow in Montmartre - Wonderful 1984 Painting size itself is approx. 17 1/8" by 16" by 1/8" thick. The painting is in great shape, the frame has a little wear and the covering on back is coming up a little. The painting is just a little crooked in frame as it may have shifted on mount, we have never removed it from frame. Read below for more info. see photos. I purchased this painting in 2022 at auction in Pennsylvania at a building that had been previously owned by the Vincentian Fathers and the Arch Diocese of Philadelphia. The building had new owners and they wanted to clear out everything that was left in the building when purchased. I will include an official statement to new owner with the date and location info of when it was obtained. Hiro was in the U.S. and around the East Coast in the early 80's, this piece may have been obtained by or gifted to the church. It is a wonderful painting and is the heaviest use of snow that I have seen in a Yamagata Painting. His Snow and Rain scenes of his earlier style are some of his most sought after works. There are a couple brush bristles noted on the surface, see photos. The painting is on paper/canvas laid to board, and the subject, while not officially titled depicts SNOW IN MONTMARTRE PARIS FRANCE.
