Forming a Sequel to the History of the French Revolution" by M.A. Thiers. Twenty volumes bound in ten volumes. First volumes were published by Henry Colburn/Chapman & Hall, then Colburn and Co, and later by Willis & Sotheran, London, from 1845-1861. All are First Editions. Described as "The Only Authorized Edition. Uniformly bound in 10 half leather volumes. Books show slight sun fading to gilt decoration on spines. Light edgewear and slight corner wear/wear to spine ends. All volumes are clean, unmarked although they all contain the personal bookplate of the former owner. I will call the set Very Good--a lovely, solid, sound set!! Wonderful engraved illustrations in all volumes. Books measure 5 5/8 X 9. A SCARCE FEW copies of this set can be found on other internet booksites for upwards of $1500 for the later American Editions!!
