Glaskow was born in the territory of Don Cossacks of an old Cossack family. Three of his brothers were killed in action against the Red Army. His mother, two brothers and a sister were killed by the Bolshviks. In 1920 General Glaskow went into exile, continuing his studies in Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. He was graduated as a civil engineer from the Technical Insti- tute in Prague and as Doctor of Political Science and Journalism from the Charles University in Prague Before World War Il he was elected head of the Cossack National Liberation Movement (KNOD) a post he still holds.
