Description: HO SCALEBRASSORIENTAL LIMITED #8052"DEEP RIVER LOGGING #72-4-4-2 ARTICULATED MALLET This is a beautifully kept brass locomotive, which looks visually new. Has minor use, see pictures of wheels (maybe 2-3x around the track?). These are some of the coolest mallet's out there due to the rarity of the prototype, and this one has an amazing history. See the extra pictures of the prototype that still runs today. UPDATE: What looks like a hole in the fireman's side is simply oil from the mechanism that over the many years this has existed has leaked down in the plastic and settled on the side of the boiler. This locomotive is in new looking condition as stated previously, but feel free to ask questions, or for more photos. Skookum is one of the most famous of all logging locomotives. Built by Baldwin in 1909, and was only one of three 2-4-4-2 wheel arrangements ever built! This locomotive was only saved from the scrapper due to the locomotive derailing during the last days of the logging of an area, where they pulled up the tracks and abandoned it. This locomotive lay there on its side for years before being dismantled and brought out in pieces due to the weight, size, and remoteness of the locomotive's location, and was then restored for use. It has a long railroad history as Little River RR #126, Columbia River Belt Line Skookum, Larkin & Green Logging C. #7, Carslisle Lumber Co. #7, Mud Bay Logging Co. #7, Deep River Logging Co. #7, Charlie Marrow #7, and Rogan Coombs #7. Today it is back on the Columbia River Belt Line Railway as "Skookum" #7 once again, and although it is privately owned, it is being run on the Niles Canyon Railway which runs between Freemont and Sunol California.
