It's a great base diet for birds ranging from the size of a Senegal or Sun Conure to a Macaw (although we supplement the Macaws by adding a few nuts in shell, and some of the birds on the smaller size may leave a lot of the larger pieces - you might want to try the Small Hookbill Cuisine for them). We have served this diet to our birds for years and I ship to many customers around the country who have moved away and are unable to find any mix their birds enjoy as much as this. Hookbill Cuisine contains NO Peanuts in shell and NO Sunflower Seeds in shell. We get this mix directly from the manufacturer and go through several hundred pounds per week, so the mix we send you will be extremely fresh. Ingredients:Safflower, Buckwheat, Coconut, Pine Nuts, Hulled Peanuts, Pumpkin Seed, Pasta, Dehydrated Carrots, Pistachios, Paddy Rice, Hemp Seed, Dehydrated Green Peas, Dehydrated Banana Chips, Dehydrated Pineapple Dices, Dehydrated Papaya Dices, Hulled Almonds, Field Peas, Star Anise, Hulled Sunflower, Dehydrated Sweet Corn, and Cinnamon Sticks. Attention existing customers: Our per pound price from the manufacturer has increased over the past several years, without an increase to the customer until now. Despite the increase in price, we have chosen to carry this mix in presealed 4 lb bags, instead of the 5 lb Ziplocks that we have always used. This is a HUGE improvement over the old packaging, the bags are much sturdier and don't pop open in the boxes all the time! I want to be clear, this is the SAME MIX WE HAVE ALWAYS CARRIED, simply in a 4 lb prepackaged bag instead of a 5 lb Ziplock. Unfortunately with the increased cost of the seed, the current price of one 4 lb bag with shipping and eBay fees is the same as the old price of one five lb bag. HOWEVER, because of the shape of these new bags, we are able to fit 3 of them in a medium flat-rate box and 6 in a large flat-rate box, which is a considerable savings (it costs us the same amount to ship 6 bags together as it does to ship two bags separately.)
