Description: ***** There is no shipping for item. It is available for pick up only in Staten Island, NY.***** This is a huge vintage Hunter Zephair industrial pedestal fan. The fan cage measures 27 inches in diameter and the fan stands a little over 6 feet tall. The base measures approximately 24 inches in diameter. It's a fixed position, non-oscillating fan. The fan is not working at the moment. I never tried to plug it in because the motor feels stiff. It is not seized and you can turn the blade by hand, but if feels stiff. I was told by an electrician that this is is quite likely due to the fact that the old grease has solidified, preventing the motor from turning freely. (I occasionally also encounter this situation with antique phonographs.) The fan motor will need to be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned up to remove the old grease and then re-lubricated. I am not interested in doing it as I am planning to relocate later this year and don't want to transport the fan.The electrician also said the fan is from the early 1950's.
