I have a Trek and a Eurobike for neighborhood cruising, and a Litespeed Tuscany road runner. So I bought a trailer hitch rack from Saris. I'm living the good life. Sadly at our last slow roll we had a rider whos bike was damaged and was unable to join us because the trunk mount rack she was using let her wheel scrape the ground on her way to the meetup destination. The rubber and the rim were wasted, unsalvageable. If you are stuck with a trunk hitch and an angled crossbar on your bike this could happen to you. If she had one of these it would not have happened. The first thing you'll notice is its weight. Its got some serious heft to it. It is very much the same as many others out there but this 2024 HYPERAX Step Thru e Bike Adapter is on steroids or something. It's big and bad as can be. The two locking loop ends are covered in a paint friendly coating that feels good to your hands as well. They are accessed through a spring clip assembly with raising arms. The expanding body is very heavy metal with a touch of plastic here and there. A locking limiting screw on the underside of the body is the only assembly you'll need to do. This adapter is super tough. Also you might want to be sure to tighten your handlebars, seat and seatpost to prevent any slipping. I will strongly suggest to her that she get one of these leveling bars. It just might save her bikes life! The problem I was having with others is that they would not fit around the fat steering tube/handlebar stem with cockpit base up front. This fits easily though you need to take your time & install it carefully to fit around the wiring in front, then slide it down away from the wiring. The bar ends that fit around bike components has a rubber coating to prevent any scratching.This is also by far the heaviest duty adapter bar I have found, very solid, which gives me comfort in knowing it's not going to come apart.
