Description: A bit of a warning here. This movie is based off the experience of one of the victims of the Columbine HS shooting in 1999. It is emotional & heartwrenching. However, it is done in a very respectful and non-exploitative manner. The story of Rachel Joy Scott, typical student at Columbine HS is told in this movie. Rachel is struggling with her studies, her family, her friends, and her faith. She is trying to find the path God wants her to travel. The movie does a great, and yes, emotional, job of getting to know Rachel as the day of the shooting looms ever near. We know how this ends, but Rachel's story gives us an insight into her journey to the end. When the time comes for the tragedy, the movie does a good job of highlighting Rachel without glorifying the shooting. Indeed, Rachel is the one glorified as she affirms her faith in the midst of evil. The cast is great, with Masey Mclain doing an excellent job in depicting Rachel Joy Scott. Ben Davies also shines as her homeless friend. Tough movie to watch, but well worth it. Thanks for visiting. May God bless you.--JC
